Terms of Service

To access the Service, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and password, or by authenticating via a supported third-party OAuth provider (currently Google and LinkedIn).

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately at support@rolegarden.com of any unauthorized use of your account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorized use.

You may not create multiple accounts, share your account with others, or transfer your account to any other person or entity without our prior written consent.

The Service offers a 7-day free trial period. You will not be charged during the trial period. A valid payment method is required to begin your trial.

After the trial period, your subscription automatically converts to a paid monthly subscription at $39.00 per month (or such price as displayed at the time of subscription), billed monthly in advance.

All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. By providing a payment method, you authorize Role Garden and Stripe to charge your payment method for subscription fees on a recurring monthly basis.

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for unused portions of a billing period, except as required by applicable law.

If your payment method fails, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service. We will attempt to notify you by email.

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. We will provide at least 30 days' advance notice of any price increase via email or in-Service notification. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

Except as required by applicable law, all fees are non-refundable. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact support@rolegarden.com within 30 days of the charge.

You may use the Service solely for your personal, non-commercial career development purposes — including searching for job opportunities, generating application materials, and preparing for job interviews.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable federal, state, or local law;
• Use the Service on behalf of, or for the benefit of, any third party, including as a recruiter, career coach, or staffing agency, without our express written consent;
• Scrape, crawl, index, or otherwise extract data from the Service using automated means;
• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to discover the source code of the Service;
• Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with security-related features of the Service;
• Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or any other harmful material;
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
• Use the Service to send unsolicited communications or spam;
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, its systems, or networks;
• Use AI-generated outputs from the Service to deceive any employer, recruiter, or third party by submitting materials that materially misrepresent your actual qualifications, experience, or background.

The Service, including its design, software, algorithms, content, and trademarks, is owned by Role Garden LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for the purposes described in these Terms.

You retain ownership of all Career Data and Generated Content you create through the Service, subject to the license grant in Section 7.2.

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use such feedback for any purpose without compensation to you.

By using the Service, you may choose to upload your resume, curriculum vitae, employment history, career preferences, professional background, education, skills, target industries, target roles, target companies, and other career-related information (collectively, "Career Data"). You may also generate content through the Service, including cover letters, outreach drafts, interview preparation materials, resume variations, and strategic career analyses (collectively, "Generated Content"). Career Data and Generated Content together constitute "Your Content."

You retain ownership of Your Content. By providing Career Data to the Service, you grant Role Garden LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license, for the duration of your account, to:

• Store and process Your Content on infrastructure operated by our service providers (including Supabase Inc., Netlify Inc., Anthropic PBC, and Resend), in order to provide, maintain, and personalize the Service for you;
• Submit and process Career Data through third-party AI and large language model services (currently Anthropic's Claude API) for the purposes of: (i) extracting structured career profile information; (ii) generating personalized job match scoring, rankings, and recommendations; (iii) generating tailored content including cover letters, outreach communications, and interview preparation materials; (iv) filtering and prioritizing job opportunities for your account; and (v) any other AI-driven features the Service offers now or in the future;
• Derive analytical insights from Your Content, including keywords, career level inference, skill extraction, and career trajectory analysis;
• Display and present Your Content and Generated Content to you through the Service;
• Retain Your Content for the duration of your account, plus a reasonable period thereafter for backup, audit, and legal compliance purposes.

You acknowledge and agree that:

• Anthropic PBC ("Anthropic") provides the Claude language model API used to process Your Content for AI-driven features of the Service;
• As of the effective date of these Terms, Anthropic states that it does not use API customer content to train its foundation models. Role Garden does not control Anthropic's policies and cannot guarantee this position will not change;
• Role Garden may change AI processing providers, models, or arrangements as needed to maintain or improve the Service. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to select providers with privacy practices substantially equivalent to Anthropic's current practices.

You expressly acknowledge that:

• All Generated Content, job match scores, recommendations, and other AI-derived outputs are suggestions only — not professional career advice, legal advice, employment guarantees, or warranties of any kind;
• AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, omissions, or hallucinations. You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying any Generated Content before relying on it or submitting it in any professional context;
• Job match scores are algorithmic outputs based on patterns in your Career Data. They do not reflect actual hiring likelihood, employer interest, or your true qualifications for any position;
• The Service is provided AS IS and AS AVAILABLE, without warranty of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Without your separate, specific, and revocable consent, Role Garden will NOT:

• Sell, rent, or transfer Your Content to third parties for marketing purposes;
• Use Your Content to train any machine learning models proprietary to Role Garden;
• Share Your Content with employers, recruiters, or other end users in personally identifiable form;
• Publish Your Content publicly or use it in marketing materials in personally identifiable form.

You have the right to:

• Access the Career Data stored in your account through the Service interface;
• Correct inaccurate Career Data by editing your profile or re-uploading your resume;
• Delete your account and associated Career Data by contacting support@rolegarden.com. Upon deletion, we will delete or anonymize your Career Data from active systems within 30 days, subject to legitimate retention obligations;
• Withdraw consent to AI processing of Your Content. Because AI processing is fundamental to the Service, withdrawing this consent will result in account termination as described in Section 7.6(c).

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, including the right to know, delete, correct, limit use of sensitive personal information, and opt out of sales or sharing (which Role Garden does not engage in as defined by these statutes). Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws (Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and others as applicable) have rights as described in our Privacy Policy.

If we make material changes to how Your Content is processed — including changing primary AI providers or materially expanding the purposes of AI processing — we will notify you and obtain renewed consent where required by law.

By creating an account and clicking "Create Account," you affirmatively consent to the terms of this Section 7 and to our processing of Your Content as described herein. Your acceptance is recorded with a timestamp and version identifier. Continued use of the Service after material changes to this Section, following notice as described in Section 7.9, constitutes acceptance of such changes.

You may terminate your account at any time by canceling your subscription through your account settings or by requesting account deletion at support@rolegarden.com.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms, non-payment of fees, or conduct harmful to us, other users, or third parties.

Upon termination: (a) your license to use the Service immediately terminates; (b) we may delete your account data as described in Section 7.6(c); (c) provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6, 7.4, 10, 11, 12, 14, and 15) will survive.

Before initiating any formal dispute, you agree to contact us at support@rolegarden.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

If informal resolution fails, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. Arbitration will be conducted in English, in St. Petersburg, Florida, or via videoconference.

YOU AND ROLE GARDEN AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.

Nothing in this Section prevents either party from seeking injunctive or equitable relief in court for intellectual property infringement, unauthorized access, or other matters where injunctive relief is appropriate.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law principles.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Role Garden concerning the Service.

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, such provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force.

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.

You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms freely, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide at least 30 days' advance notice of material changes via email or in-Service notification. Continued use after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance.
